What the DGCA ranking actually means

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation publishes a periodic ranking of India’s approved flying training organisations. The April 2026 edition assessed each FTO as on 28 February 2026 and sorted them into three categories. It is an assessment of the organisation, not a review of the student experience — an academy can sit high in Category B and still keep a cadet on the ground for eight months, and that gap is exactly what this site exists to fill.

  • Category A — Highest-ranked FTOs in the April 2026 DGCA assessment. 1 FTO.
  • Category B — Mid-tier ranking in the April 2026 DGCA assessment. 17 FTOs.
  • Category C — Lowest ranked band in the April 2026 DGCA assessment. 17 FTOs.
  • Excluded — 6 FTOs were not ranked in this phase. The reason is printed on each.

Category A

1 academy

Category B

17 academies

Category C

17 academies

Excluded from the April 2026 ranking

6 academies

These are listed by the DGCA but were not ranked in this phase. Exclusion is not by itself a judgement of quality — but it does mean the regulator did not assess them, so check current approval status directly before paying anything.

Your name is never revealed. Not once, not to anyone.

  • The academy can never see who you areYour review appears under a generated handle like Crosswind-5CD — never your name, never your email, never your photo. There is no way for an academy to work out which student wrote which review.
  • Nothing personal is ever publishedPhone numbers, email addresses and payment handles are stripped out automatically before a review is stored — including from your own text, so you cannot identify yourself by accident.
  • Photos are cleaned before they are uploadedAttach a fee receipt or a logbook page and the location, time and camera data are removed in your browser before the file ever leaves your phone.
  • You can withdraw at any timeDelete your review and it is gone permanently — the text, the photo and the recording with it. You do not have to ask anyone.
